- Partner with business leaders to proactively develop and execute HR strategies that support high-performing, engaged teams.
- Serve as the primary advisor for associate relations issues, including conducting thorough and timely internal investigations.
- Ensure consistent application of employment laws and regulations (FMLA, ADA, DOL, FLSA, Title VII, etc.) and internal policies.
- Collaborate with Legal and Compliance teams on escalated matters involving regulatory agencies.
- Coach and support leaders on associate performance management, organizational development, talent planning, and engagement.
- Support recruiting efforts by collaborating with Talent Acquisition and business leaders to assess staffing needs and talent strategies.
- Develop and analyze HR metrics to drive insights and actionable solutions for business units.
- Design and deliver targeted HR programs, including leadership development, team building, and change management initiatives.
- Conduct exit and stay interviews to assess trends and recommend retention strategies.
- Maintain and apply expert knowledge of federal, state, and local labor laws.
- Act as a liaison between employees and management, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
- Assist in creating and implementing departmental goals in partnership with HR leadership.
- Collaborate with HR Centers of Excellence (COEs) for consistent execution of enterprise-wide HR programs.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required.
- Experience: Minimum 5+ years of progressive HR experience, with strong focus on associate relations, investigations, and regulatory compliance. Retail or multi-unit experience preferred.
- Certifications: PHR/SHRM-CP or SPHR/SHRM-SCP preferred.
- Technical Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with HRIS systems such as Workday preferred.

- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Proven ability to handle sensitive and complex investigations with discretion
- Deep knowledge of ADA, FMLA, DOL compliance, and related employment law
- Data-driven and solutions-oriented
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, evolving environment
- Full-time, on-site role based in Chesapeake, VA
- Must be able to work 40+ hours per week as needed

General Summary:
The Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) serves as a strategic advisor and hands-on support resource to Dollar Tree’s Store Support Center leaders and associates. This role is instrumental in aligning business objectives with HR solutions in the areas of recruitment, associate relations, performance management, compensation, training, organizational development, and HR compliance.HRBPs are embedded within specific functions to understand business needs, team dynamics, and organizational goals. They drive initiatives that support associate engagement, retention, leadership development, and culture, ensuring compliance with employment laws and regulations.
