We are looking for a dynamic, organized self-starter to join our Product Support and Logistics Division as a Manager Distribution (2nd Shift) in Seguin, TX.

      The Product Support and Logistics Division (PSLD) is one of the most innovative divisions within Caterpillar. In PSLD, as within all of Caterpillar, our priority is our customers and helping them build a better world. We touch nearly every element of the services value stream from procurement to design and manufacturing to distribution. PSLD is responsible for Aftermarket Parts Distribution of Cat Parts, Integrated Logistics, segment Procurement and the design and manufacture of Wear Components (Undercarriage and GET) and Maintenance Components (Seals, Tubes & Hardware, Hose & Couplings, Fluids and Filters).

      Job Summary:

      As a Manager Distribution, you will provide guidance and supervision to ensure the accomplishment of goals within the Southwest Logistics Center (SWLC), including those related to budget and cost structure.

      Additional Info:

      • This position requires the candidate to work a 5 day-a-week schedule in the Seguin, TX plant.
      • Shift: 2nd Shift – 4:00PM – 12:30 AM Monday through Friday

      • Travel: 5-10% (Domestic travel only)

      What You Will Do:

      • Monitor and improve safety on the shop floor; eliminate any unsafe operations and ensure a safe and clean product environment.
      • Determine processing needs to ensure fixtures, tooling and methods are provided to meet schedules and production requirements.
      • Daily tie-in with production management to designate workload, priorities and sequence for work assigned.
      • Determine overtime need, determine priorities when resources are insufficient, and decide when disciplinary action is necessary.
      • Suggest changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency. Work to improve processes, timeliness and reduce costs by eliminating non-value-added activities.
      • Ensure the quality of product produced and conform to Caterpillars Quality Policy while maintaining cost.
      • Ensure necessary parts and materials are ordered and distributed in a timely and efficient manner.
      • Implement various corporate initiatives such as 5S, Lean Manufacturing, 6 Sigma, CQMS/ISO certification, etc.
      • Responsible for training and development of staff, timekeeping, estimating personnel needs, assigning work, meeting completion dates, and ensuring consistent application of organizational needs.
      • Perform other job duties as assigned by Caterpillar management from time to time.
      • This role has primary responsibility for the performance of multiple shifts, for direct production and support functions.

      • Customer Service Management: Knowledge of customer service priorities and ability to utilize tools and techniques for maintaining an environment where all understand, and are committed to providing excellent service to internal and external customers.
      • Leadership: Knowledge of leadership practices and processes; ability to use strategies and skills to enlist others in setting, embracing and achieving objectives while having a long-term perspective of the future state of things and how to get there.
      • Problem Management Process - MFG: Knowledge of manufacturing problem management processes, methodologies and techniques; ability to use a disciplined approach to bringing that problem to a successful resolution.

      What Will Put You Ahead (Preferred Skills):

      • Warehouse Management: Knowledge of the policies, processes and systems of warehouse management; ability to effectively manage one or more warehouses or distribution centers.
      • Experience with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) such as Blue Yonder
      • Experience with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint)
      • Experience with Workday

      Summary Pay Range:

      $79,800.00 - $119,760.00

      Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
