      OVERVIEW:

      The Early REACH Manager will oversee the development, implementation, and evaluation of the Early REACH (Raising Educational Access for Children in Harris County) program. This position will provide leadership and oversee the day-to-day management of early childhood coaches. This critical role will involve collaborating with partner agencies and early childhood educators to ensure the program's overall success. The incumbent will serve as an early childhood education subject matter expert and will conduct research to support the program’s strategic planning.

      PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITES:

      Provide leadership to Early REACH Childhood Coaches. Implements collaboration best practices to maintain, build, and improve the functioning and impact of initiative work. Manage assigned functions and ensure each area of the work is fully communicated and shared across the department. Foster a strong collaborative spirit and a can-do attitude. Ensure targets are met while providing the support needed to achieve them. Actively engage in all relationship-building and collaborative meetings within assigned areas and across Mission and Strategy.

      Assist with program design, monitoring and training. Responsible for monitoring investment portfolio for performance, providing technical assistance to collaborative partners to ensure ability to meet various benchmarks and service delivery targets. Provides general and customized training to partners including outcomes management, continuous quality improvement, data management and reporting. Working collaboratively, utilize data provided to review current implementation plan and methodology and make appropriate recommendations for needed improvements across all areas of the program that will advance agency goals for ensuring all members of our community have the opportunity to thrive.

      Serve as primary representative with external partnerships and collaborations focused on early childhood education. Represents Early REACH’s interests while building strategic relationships across our community in the focus areas of childhood education. Assign team members to external work groups to ensure consistent, deep partnership in the community.

      People Management and other administrative tasks such as develop and monitor individual budgets, supervise staff, conduct performance appraisals, individual goal setting, and handling interviewing and selection of candidates within specified area. Provide supervision and clear direction for direct reports. Assure coordinated and clear individual and team goals are identified and monitored. Provide guidance and direction to team members while promoting individual thinking, innovation, excellence and development. Regular and meaningful updates with each team member is expected, including bi-weekly one-on-one meetings and effective team meetings.

      Serve as subject matter expert in initiative field. Develop and maintain current information on needs of community as well as best practices to address needs. Develop in-depth understanding of community resources through research, involvement in community planning and advocacy groups and other activities. Use knowledge to make recommendations about funding priorities, new activities, and direction. Participate in community collaborations, partnerships, and national and state organizations involved in community impact work, identifying appropriate roles for the program.

      Constituent Relationships: Work with program leaders to identify, develop and implement opportunities to communicate work, program goals and priorities to constituents. Be an effective and compelling communicator of the same to advance engagement and brand value.

      Required 5 years

      Ideal candidate will be an expert in early childhood education with management level experience. Must be skilled at coaching and building strategic relationships across our community. Must demonstrate knowledge of Texas Minimum Standards, NAEYC Accreditation, Professional Development Standards, Texas Core Competencies, Devereux Early Childhood Assessment (DECA), Reggio Emilia Approach, and grant management practices.
