      About the Opportunity

      Reporting to the Director Science and System Performance, and working with the public health leadership team, the Manager, Early Years Nurse Family Partnership provides an expert level of clinical advice and strategic leadership to the planning, development, implementation, ongoing operation and evaluation of the Nurse Family Partership Program across Nova Scotia

      The position works with the public health leaders across the province, including but not limited to zone Early Years Managers and Consultants, Directors, Medical Health Officers, the Senior Directors ( Public Health program area managers, zone Directors, Senior Director) and other stakeholders to support effective implementation of the Nurse Family Partnership Program, maintaining program fidelity and integrity.

      The Manager sets conditions for the public health system to succeed in promoting population health, reducing health inequities, and supporting healthy development by developing key internal and external partnerships, leveraging resources, developing processes, measuring results and working collaboratively across zones, networks, communities and organizations.

      About You

      We would love to hear from you if you have the following:

      • Registered Nurse or Midwife
      • Master of Public Health, nursing or related field is preferred
      • Professional expertise in maternal and child public health, including home visiting
      • 3 years' experience in a leadership role
      • Experience in strategic leadership in the planning, development and evaluation of public health programs, services and initiatives based on community assessments, data and best practice models for the early years.
      • Demonstrated proficiency in the Core Competencies for Public Health
      • In depth knowledge of Public Health programs, practice including Nurse Family Partnership program
      • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with a wide variety of stakeholders using a variety of methods.
      • Demonstrated success in building strategic partnerships, networks, coalitions, and collaborative working relationships with a variety of internal and external partners to support early years work.
      • Demonstrated judgment, decisions making, and problem-solving skills
      • Demonstrated experience and success in change management initiatives
      • Demonstrated planning, organization and time management skills

      About You Continued

      • Ability to deal with competing priorities
      • Innovative systems thinking with an understanding of working with communities to support the health of children in the early years.
      • Demonstrated proficiency in LEADS
      • Demonstrated high standards of ethics, integrity, respect, accountability and upholding the public interest, and ability to use them effectively in decision-making.
      • Leadership skills consisting of team building, conflict resolution, goal setting, coaching, mentoring, delegation, change-leadership

      • Permanent Full Time / 75 Hours Bi-weekly

      Compensation and Benefits

      $45.45 - $60.40 Hourly

      Successful candidates may be eligible for our benefits package which includes health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage as well as a defined benefit pension plan. (Permanent Long Assignments Only)
