      SALARY: $70-75K DOE

      OVERVIEW:

      The Foundation and Grants Manager will play a pivotal role in securing funding and managing grants for United Way of Greater Houston. The Manager is responsible for researching potential funding sources, developing grant proposals, and overseeing the entire grants process from application to reporting. Additionally, the Manager will build and maintain relationships with foundation partners, ensuring alignment with United Way’s mission and objectives.

      PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

      Grant Management:

      • Oversee the entire grants management process, including proposal submission, acknowledgment of receipt, and follow-up communication with funders.
      • Maintain accurate records of grant applications, awards, and reporting deadlines using grant management software or databases.
      • Coordinate with Finance department and program teams to ensure proper budgeting and tracking; review monthly consultant invoices and submit to supervisor for approval; prepare reporting of grant funds.

      Grant Research and Identification:

      • Conduct comprehensive research to identify potential grant opportunities from foundations, government agencies and other funding sources.
      • Evaluate grant eligibility criteria and match funding opportunities with the organization's programs and initiatives.

      Grant Proposal Development:

      • Collaborate with program managers and other stakeholders to develop compelling grant proposals and budgets that align with the organization's strategic goals.
      • Write clear, concise, and persuasive grant applications, ensuring compliance with all requirements and deadlines.
      • Develop and maintain a working relationship with grant consultant to coordinate grant activities.

      Strategic Planning:

      • Contribute to the development of long-term fundraising strategies and goals, incorporating insights from grant research and donor relationships.
      • Participate in organizational planning processes, providing input on resource allocation and funding priorities.

      Relationship Building:

      • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with foundation partners and funding agencies, serving as the primary point of contact for grant-related inquiries and communications.
      • Proactively engage with donors and funders to understand their priorities and interests, seeking opportunities for collaboration and partnership.

      Grant Reporting and Compliance:

      • Prepare and submit timely and accurate grant and impact reports, ensuring compliance with funder requirements and regulations.
      • Monitor grant expenditures and outcomes, tracking progress towards program goals and objectives.
      • Address any issues or concerns related to grant compliance or reporting, working closely with internal teams and funders to resolve them.
      • Other duties as needed and assigned.

      Qualifications

      Experience

      Required 5 years

      The ideal candidate will have a minimum of five years' experience in grant writing, management, and compliance within the nonprofit sector. Must have strong understanding of grant funding processes, including research, proposal development, and reporting. Must demonstrate excellent communication skills, including writing, editing, and the ability to craft compelling narratives and proposals. Ability to cultivate relationships with foundation partners, donors and stakeholders is essential.
