      What is the opportunity?

      The incumbent is responsible for supporting the maintenance and enhancement of funds transfer pricing methodologies and processes related to transfer of interest rate risk (IRR) and liquidity risk. The role has a direct impact on the management reporting of the transfer priced businesses (Canadian Banking and Wealth Management platforms).

      In the delivery of the above mandate, the position provides timely and actionable information to senior members of Corporate Treasury. The incumbent will have the opportunity to interact with Corporate Treasury, Finance and different lines of businesses and will get an opportunity to learn about the key drivers of the bank’s margin across various products.

      What you will do?

      • Support the implementation and maintenance of RBC’s non-trading funds transfer pricing framework, which:
        • provides market and customer behavior-based pricing guidance for the Bank’s retail products;
        • transfers and/or prices interest rate and liquidity risks inherent in the products for risk management; and
        • provides a robust basis for market-based performance management reporting.
      • Maintain and execute the daily price guidance process for RBC’s retail products.
      • Perform FTP data analytics and investigate FTP rate queries.
      • Produce weekly and monthly balance and rate reporting to support regular FTP meetings with business and finance stakeholders.
      • Support the development, automation and enhancement of various reports, excel models, and processes.
      • Assist senior members of the team with ad-hoc projects through data extraction, power point presentations and analysis relating to FTP, product pricing and margin.
      • Work closely with Interest Rate Risk Measurement and Management teams to ensure alignment between risk management and FTP mechanisms.
      • Contribute to the growth of a center of expertise for Funds Transfer Pricing including Interest Rate Risk & Liquidity management to support regulatory, auditory, and internal bodies inquiries related to Funds Transfer pricing.

      Must Have

      • Undergraduate/Graduate Degree
      • Technical: MS Office Suite, Excel modelling
      • Good understanding of mathematical/financial/risk concepts.
      • Familiarity with automation/programming skills.
      • Basic understanding of bank’s products and balance sheet.
      • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal

      Nice to Have

      • Experience with VBA or other automation/programming languages, databases (SQL Server), business intelligence (Tableau, Power BI), statistical software (R), are preferred.
      • Understanding of the drivers of bank margins across products.
      • Related work experience preferred (2 to 4 years).
      • Knowledge of Funds Transfer Pricing concepts and application.
