  Job Description: Logistics Europe – Bid Support Manager / Presentation Designer

  Primary Role Purpose:

  The purpose of this role is to help transform and create customer centric proposals and business content that Logistics Europe sales teams will use in their discussions with strategic / chosen customer submissions. The output (mostly in Power Point) will always be aimed at differentiating DPWorld from the competition – be this in the structure and design or the look and feel of the created content.

  Key Responsibilities Of The Role

  Understanding the Customer’s Need:

  1. When any Sales / Business Development (BD) lead in Europe has an agreed project to work on, the successful candidate will need to understand and gain insight into WHAT the customer is looking at outsourcing, WHY this project is existing and WHAT the current business problems and challenges DPWorld is trying to solve in the submission.
  2. Need to understand and listen to the direction and insights that the BD person can provide on what the main elements and important business levers our proposal will need to be built around.

  Creating the Response Structure:

  1. Once a solid understanding of the customer situation is established, then the role holder will need to create a response document structure that allows the following elements to be incorporated:
     • Customer centric in the look and feel of the document (it looks like their own document, mostly PowerPoint) – so fonts, colours, images
     • Using the right format for the customer (infographics, images, moving images…)
     • Visually is impactful and looks interesting and makes any reader to want to read more.
     • Utilised any specific customer language – so focused on the customer.
     • Leveraging the “business levers” the DPW response is being built around
     • Following the Corporate Identity, especially the Corporate Design of DP World and using the given elements to create a presentation or document with a high Recognition factor.
  2. Share the proposed outline structure and response design with the BD lead to gain refinement and alignment.

  Creating the Response document:

  1. As the Solutions and Subject Matter Expert (SME) teams in Europe start to build up their content, this will be shared via the BD project lead to allow the rough content to be then slotted into the agreed proposal template. This content will include inputs covering:
     • Solutions design
     • IT
     • HR
     • Operations – including H&S, Quality and Security
     • Case studies / collateral
     • Costings and Finance
     • DP World business content
  2. Working closely with the BD lead will be a critical to delivery of the value-adding output from this role. In addition, contact with the specific SMEs will be needed so the role holder fully understands what content and messaging is needed to be written into the final submission document
  3. Be able to “beautify” any existing content into the required submission format: Power Point for designing presentations, taking into account the desired scope. Design of presentations or documents that are appropriate to the target group and the content with the help of graphic elements, etc.

  Competencies Required For The Role

  • Self-starter who can listen to the need and translate this into a structured output
  • Creative eye, sense of design
  • Expert in PowerPoint and the
  • Experience in graphics programmes and able to select suitable media depending on the target group
  • Experience in dealing with corporate design
  • Able to create graphics, illustrations etc. and insert them into the target documentCan engage and deal with (potentially) multiple stakeholders across several projects
  • Using the principle of “less is best” – be able to translate text into simple messages and imagery, but not to lose the content and principle of the text.
  • The candidate must be able to demonstrate adherence to defined timelines, and good communication where there are foreseen challenges to deadlines required.

  Qualifications & Other Competencies

  Education / Qualifications / Professional Training (minimum qualifications required to perform the Job)
  Essential	Languages - Fluent in English with the ability to understand Europeans where English is not their natural language Expert in Power Point and good skills in Office 365 Graphic designer experience – XX years. This will include the ability to demonstrate sole use of associated graphic design tools; use of video & editing software: Adobe Creative Suite, especially In Design. Ability of using Photoshop.– desirable
  Desirable	Experience in editing and embedding videos desirable Script writing experience
