      Overview

      General Dynamics Ordnance and Tactical Systems, a premier provider of ordnance weapons and tactical systems to the U.S. Department of Defense and allied nations, has an opening for an onsite HR Manager to join the Huntsville, AL team.

      The selected candidate will design, implement, and monitor a variety of human resource programs. Anticipate and plan for long-term human resource needs and trends in partnership with business management. Responsibilities are within the Human Resources Function as a generalist or in a combination of disciplines.

      Major Position Responsibilities

      • Manages human resources functional operations, including talent acquisition, compensation, benefits, training, employee relations, safety, and compliance.
      • Administers human resources programs and policies to reflect the organization's mission and values, support company goals, achieve objectives, and positively engage the workforce.
      • Maintains broad and current subject matter knowledge and expertise in federal and state employment laws to advise leadership with solutions for human resources issues and evolving organizational needs.
      • Leads and directs the work of other managers and has responsibility for personnel actions including hiring, performance management, and termination with concurrence from HR & General Managers.

      Basic Qualifications

      • Required Education: Associate's Degree OR Equivalent Combination of Relevent Education & Experience
      • Preferred Education: Bachelor's Degree
      • Discipline/Major: Business or relevant degree preferred
      • Additional Certifications: SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR or SPHR preferred
      • Years and Area of Experience (required for the role): 5-7 years of relevant experience
