Job Description

- A degree in Law, Accounting, Business, Commerce or similar
- Experience working in a top-tier or mid-tier accounting or legal firm, the state revenue office, or the ATO
- Experience in managing matters independently and working together collaboratively as part of a team
- Excellent communication and presentation skills and with a high attention to detail you will draw on your corporate and commercial experience to think strategically to achieve the firm’s objectives and build strong relationships.

About the team
The Deloitte Indirect Tax group focuses on improving the transactional and trading environment of our clients’ businesses. As part of our Indirect Tax team, you’ll provide advice and compliance expertise to clients principally for State Taxes (stamp duty, land tax and foreign surcharges) over all 8 Australian jurisdictions, and which could also include other indirect taxes, including goods and services tax (GST), and fuel tax credits.
We are a team which operates nationally, with team members on certain engagements drawn from different geographies around Australia, which facilitates a breadth of experience, and connecting with colleagues and clients, nation-wide.
This role is responsible for providing support to senior team members in delivery of client service, and managing client relations on a day-to-day basis.
What will your typical day look like?
You will provide state tax advice, compliance and consultancy services across a range of matters including M&A, corporate restructuring, property developments, cross border issues and managing revenue office reviews and queries. You will have direct connections with clients, and work directly with team members of varying degrees of experience, including partners.
As a manager, you will manage and mentor a team as well as support and help drive business development initiatives.
