      About this role

      This position manages a team of intermediate to experienced professionals in Materials & Logistics, manages departmental budgets, consults on business issues, drives cost reduction activities, ensures quality control, and leads material and inventory audits.

      Key Responsibilities:

      • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team responsible for material handling, warehouse operations, and logistics.
      • Set clear goals and expectations, providing regular feedback and performance evaluations.
      • Develop and implement strategies to optimize material flow and logistics processes, reducing waste and improving efficiency.
      • Oversee receiving, warehousing, and delivery to point-of-use to ensure timely and accurate supply of materials.
      • Monitor inventory levels, conduct audits, and implement inventory control measures to prevent shortages or excess stock.
      • Coordinate with production, procurement, and suppliers to mitigate risks related to material shortages or supply chain disruptions.
      • Manage relationships with third-party logistics (3PL) providers, carriers, and suppliers to ensure cost-effective and reliable transportation of materials.
      • Analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) and use data-driven insights to drive continuous improvement initiatives.
      • Develop and manage the department budget, optimizing costs while maintaining service levels.
      • Ensure compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and safety standards related to materials handling and logistics.
      • Utilize ERP and warehouse management systems (WMS) to track inventory, streamline operations, and enhance decision-making.

      Required Qualifications:

      • Bachelor’s Degree
      • 5+ years of experience in materials management, logistics, or supply chain operations

      Preferred Qualifications:

      • Preferably in a manufacturing environment.
      • Strong understanding of inventory control, demand planning, and warehouse operations.
      • Experience with ERP systems and warehouse management systems (WMS).
      • Proven ability to lead teams, drive process improvements, and manage supplier relationships.
      • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
      • Strong communication and collaboration skills with cross-functional teams.
