      Position Summary

      The Manager of Production and Manufacturing is responsible for the accomplishment of the production schedule through the manufacturing of high-quality products on time and at budgeted cost. This will be achieved by providing production leadership and through the coordination of working with key cross function departments. This position will manage first and second shift.

      Essential Duties & Responsibilities

      1. Participates with peers, superiors and subordinates in achieving key metrics that drive performance and improvements.
      2. Participates in the development of key departmental metrics.
      3. Provides direct supervision and guidance to the Production leadership in the department.
      4. Work closely with Production and Quality personnel to help foster a culture of quality, continuous improvement, responsibility, and mutual respect.
      5. Develop plans and implement actions to meet customer demand, including managing raw material and finished goods inventory levels, and, if appropriate, requiring personnel to work overtime.
      6. Select and develop personnel to ensure an efficient, safe, and healthy production work environment.
      7. Identify and communicate any issues that pertain to personnel safety or the ability to manufacture product that consistently meets established quality standards.
      8. Facilitate teamwork between production work shifts.
      9. Coordinate with Quality to continuously review the effectiveness of the training program and, where appropriate, make adjustments to KPIs, training content, and the process(es) for providing timely feedback regarding production personnel performance in the context of product quality, production volume, and adherence to procedures and appropriate standards (e.g., ISO).
      10. Where appropriate, assist with new process development and new equipment implementation.
      11. Follow established safety procedures and perform duties in a safe manner.
      12. Ensures all personnel are trained with the necessary competencies to perform assigned work.
      13. Assures compliance with company policies and regulations.
      14. Perform these and other duties as necessary or required, the inclusion of which will not alter the basic scope of the position
      15. Actively demonstrating support through interactions with solid communication skills, attitude, dedication, commitment, respect, pride and trust.

      Knowledge, Skills & Qualifications

      • Comprehensive knowledge of technical service practices, processes, procedures and production support activities including efficiency levels and productivity standards
      • Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills to effectively work with diverse groups of people
      • Demonstrated success in implementing large-scale improvements and changes in complex and diverse environments
      • Proficient computer skills and familiarity with MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access) and business control software (Oracle)
      • Ability to manage projects and activities in multiple locations with diverse groups of people
      • Strong leadership and motivational skills and the ability to develop leadership qualities in others
      • Ability to coordinate and organize multiple projects simultaneously
      • Well-developed analytical skills and knowledge of analysis techniques that assist in report preparation for decision-making purposes

      Education and Experience

      • Must be at least 18 years of age
      • Associate degree or bachelor's degree required
      • Five years supervisory experience in a production environment
      • ISO/GMP training preferred.

      Physical Requirements and Work Environment

      • Work is performed in a clean room environment
      • While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be required to sit or stand for long periods of time
      • Must be able to occasionally move and lift objects of up to 40 lbs
      • Typically requires travel less than 5% of the time
