In collaboration with leadership, manage the development and implementation of our maternal and child health strategy with corresponding annual goals to advance the Magoon Institute’s mission, sustain and grow maternal and child health priorities, advance collaboration and support fundraising.
Provides project and personnel management expertise for and support of maternal and child health initiatives, programming and projects to ensure new and current initiatives’ success and impact.
Identify program and curriculum improvements and work with team members to implement based on evaluation data, program partner feedback and participant recommendations.
Oversee program evaluation planning, development and implementation including designing and managing qualitative and quantitative data collection and evaluation tools, logic models and benchmarks, and program assessments that engage a variety of stakeholders and program participants.
Lead the development of reporting for maternal and child health programming, including content development, design and dissemination.
Lead results dissemination efforts, including developing abstracts and journal publications, presenting work at local and national conferences and synthesizing insights from research and conferences to debrief a variety of audiences.
Support the development of new funding proposals, stewardship, progress and annual reporting.
Collaborate with community health program leadership and staff across the department and clinical experts to advance maternal and child health priorities, strategies and activities and related community health efforts.
Responsible for supervising and oversight of staff and students, including hiring, separating, promoting, demoting, and writing and administering performance evaluations.
Other job functions as assigned
Bachelor’s degree in public health, psychology, business or related field required. Master’s degree preferred. An equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be considered in lieu of the degree when the experience has been directly related to the duties of the job.
Minimum of five years’ experience in program management, program evaluation or other related field.
Strong organizational skills, including management of time and processes.
Excellent analytical, interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
Ability to take initiative, work independently and be self-directed.
Ability to collaborate with individuals from different backgrounds and disciplines.

Job Description
The Manager of Maternal and Child Health Initiatives is responsible for program management, impact and evaluation reports and the supervision of program staff. This position supports the design and management of data systems to track program outcomes, while working with the program teams to ensure continuous program improvements and create data dissemination strategies. The role will support the development of grant proposals and stewardship reports, as well as leading the development of program narrative and data reports. This position provides support to ensure success of Patrick M. Magoon Institute for Healthy Communities’ annual goals and Lurie Children’s community health strategy and organizational mission.
Department Description: The Patrick M. Magoon Institute for Healthy Communities serves as the hub for all community-focused initiatives at Lurie Children’s. The Magoon Institute is responsible for aligning the Medical Center’s clinical, research, education and advocacy expertise with community engagement, while supporting people, programs and partnerships that advance community health and health equity. This team provides engagement opportunities for employees, physicians and trainees and leads the development and execution of Lurie Children’s Community Health Needs Assessment and Implementation Strategy. The Magoon Institute partners with clinical, public health and community outreach leaders and experts across the Medical Center to work towards the goal of advancing health equity and racial justice, and improving health and wellness for infants, children, adolescents and their families across Chicago.
