      Remuneration: $122,850, per annum - $139,559.00 per annum + super and annual leave loading

      ABOUT THE ROLE

      This role manages the development, implementation, evaluation and refinement of activities and initiatives to improve the safety and quality of medication use with NSW Ambulance. The position holder is responsible for leading and coordinating medication safety and quality improvement initiatives at a state level.

      Responsibilities include project management; stakeholder engagement; undertaking reviews of evidence; development of evidence based resources; testing, evaluation and refinement of resources; and milestone reporting.

      The Manager Medication Safety supports the Clinical Governance team in promoting systems wide initiatives to improve medication use in NSW, assist with other ancillary projects or emerging medication safety issues and undertakes associated administrative tasks. The role is also responsible for providing expert input into NSW Ambulance initiatives and any issues referred to NSW Ambulance for comment when required.

      ABOUT YOU

      We are looking for candidates with the below experience and capabilities:0

      • Tertiary qualifications in a health field with relevant AHPRA registration or equivalent; and extensive experience, skills and knowledge in medication safety
      • Extensive knowledge of medicines use processes within NSW Health and Quality Use of Medicines principles
      • Extensive knowledge and understanding of the principles, structure and processes of quality and safety management
      • Demonstrated analytical skills, with the capacity to undertake qualitative and quantitative analysis of clinical data
      • Demonstrated experience in leading healthcare quality improvement initiatives fostering a systematic collaborative approach to improving patient outcomes including the management of multiple and concurrent initiatives with conflicting milestones and deadlines
      • Highly developed communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills demonstrating the capability to influence and build strong relationships with diverse stakeholder groups to support change and drive the achievement of common goals
      • Demonstrated ability to identify, review and analyse health literature and develop succinct, high-quality written documents, reports and verbal presentations for senior clinicians, executive-level managers and external stakeholders
