- Supervise the daily activities of trainers and support staff to provide associates the best possible learning experience.
- Develop strategic and operational plans to achieve results and ensure alignment with Company goals and objectives through associate learning and development initiatives.
- Foster open communication with the team through regularly-scheduled one-on-one meetings with trainers and support staff.
- Confer with management and conduct surveys to identify training required to support the company’s growth and direction.
- Share best-practices and customer feedback with trainers, other supervisors, and department management to maintain visibility of active issues and drive continuous improvements efforts.
- Maintain accurate tracking of training schedule to ensure coverage for trainers and support staff.
- Assess, plan, identify and implement employee development strategies for all levels of the organization.
- Provide classroom training, on-the-job training, in person workshops and e-learning materials to support a variety of organizational initiatives and business needs .
- Ensure training summaries, metrics and follow-up calls are received in a timely basis.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of training programs, providing recommendations for improvement.
- Timely and regular attendance according to the scheduled shift as determined by supervisory personnel.
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university/college or equivalent experience required
- 5+ years of training/organizational development experience
- Demonstrated commitment to excellent customer service
- Excellent computer skills including Contribute, Captivate, Photoshop, PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.
- Demonstrated leadership abilities
- Strong presentation and public-speaking abilities
- Strong verbal, listening, written communication skills required
- Ability to organize/schedule and coordinate multiple tasks simultaneously
- Knowledge of supervisory and management practices and policies
- Excellent decision making skills
- Ability to be proactive, self-motivated, and self-directed
The primary responsibility of this role is to provide support and direction to the learning team to ensure training is performed in an effective and efficient way. In addition, this position must work closely with multiple departments, shifts, and personnel to develop, implement, and improve the effectiveness and efficiency of learning processes and policies. The Manager of Learning and Development will also assess and understand both departmental and company-wide developmental needs to drive learning initiatives, identify and arrange suitable learning solutions for associates, and search, design and implement effective methods to educate, enhance performance, and develop associates.
