- Reports to the Membership Director.
- Act as a role model and provide positive leadership to all team members.
- Be sensitive to member needs and maintain a customer-friendly demeanor at all times.
- Assist with Membership Tours and Sales.
- Know all information pertaining to YMCA programs and events.
- Work evenings and weekends as assigned.
- Maintain a proper dress code at all times.
- Attend Branch Leadership Team meetings.
- Be punctual for all scheduled shifts and meetings.
- Maintain a neat and orderly work environment at all times.
- Obtain and maintain current CPR & AED Certification (re-certification yearly).
- Must be visible and available to move throughout the facility to perform/engage in regular facility inspections and member interactions.
- Complete MOD Checklists.
- Handles staffing issues/problems in the absence of Program Directors according to YMCA policies and procedures.
- Communicate any need for follow up to appropriate team members.
- Completes incident reports in Origami portal.
- Help train new staff on their assigned shadow shifts.
- MOD must station themselves at the Member Services Desk.
- A minimum of 1-2 years of exceptional customer service experience
- Ability to engage and approach members/participants in a welcoming and understanding manner.
- Proven ability to de-escalate and resolve conflicts.
- Proven ability to make decisions on the spot.
- Must have the ability to coach other team members.
- Have knowledge of all branch YMCA departments/programs.
- Minimum physical requirements include the ability to stand for the entire shift, walk and/or run.
- Upper body strength to lift up to 25 pounds and the manual dexterity to lock and unlock doors and operate computer is essential.
- Ability to operate in our CORE environment and other computer software that YMCA uses (i.e. UKG, Teams, GroupMe, Nationwide Membership Platform, Team Sideline, Mind Body, Origami and SharePoint).
The Manager on Duty (MOD) is responsible for ensuring a positive member experience, supervision of part time staff and proper function of the facility during the evenings and weekends. The MOD will promote YMCA membership and retention by interacting with members, giving Tours and providing services as necessary. The MOD will handle problems and/or emergencies as necessary in the absence of Directors.
