Manager – Operational Risk Identification Team – 12 month FTC

This is an excellent job for someone with knowledge of the asset management industry and the risks associated with this. This includes knowledge of financial instruments and a trade lifecycle.

      A bit about the job:

This role supports the Head of Operational Risk and Senior Operational Risk Identification Manager in maintaining a robust, best in class risk management framework (including supporting documents) that adheres to industry sound practice approaches whilst balancing simplicity and regulatory requirements. The successful candidate will perform second line monitoring activities to assess the implementation of the framework across the business (which includes Operational Risk), whilst escalating material failures to the Head of Operational Risk and Senior Operational Risk Identification Manager. Day to day you will prepare the more complex data analytics and undertake deep dives forming part of the second line independent view of the Aviva Investors risk profile to support the Senior Operational Risk Identification Manager and Head of Operational Risk in presentations to senior stakeholders and committees. Alongside this you will investigate discrepancies identified and obtain proposed remedial actions and present the results to the Senior Operational Risk Identification Manager for challenge and approval.

Skills and experience we’re looking for:

      • Reasonable knowledge of risk identification, measurement, management, monitoring and reporting practices across the asset management and other financial services sectors.

      • Some knowledge of the workings of the FCA and other global regulators, in particular an understanding of their key concerns and how this translates into their objectives in overseeing operational risk management.

      • Has a good appreciation of working globally and is sensitive to cultural diversity.

      • Some experience and asset management background

What you’ll get for this role:

      • Generous pension scheme - Aviva will contribute up to 14%, depending on what you put in

      • Eligibility for annual performance bonus

      • Family friendly parental and carer’s leave

      • Generous holiday entitlement plus bank holidays with the option to buy/sell up to 5 additional days

      • Up to 40% discount for Aviva products

      • Brilliant flexible benefits including electric cars

      • Aviva Matching Share Plan and Save As You Earn scheme

      • 21 volunteering hours per year
