      The Timekeeping Manager Level 1 is responsible for overseeing the accurate and efficient management of the company’s timekeeping processes. This role ensures that employee work hours are correctly recorded, compliant with company policies, and in alignment with labor regulations. The Timekeeping Manager Level 1 collaborates closely with payroll, HR, and various departments to ensure seamless integration and accurate payroll processing.

      Key Responsibilities:

      Timekeeping Management:

      Coordinate with timekeeping functional and support teams to manage the timekeeping tools. This role involves supervising a team of functional timekeeping team members. Ensure accurate and timely pay based on the employee's time entry of employee work hours, including regular, overtime, and leave hours and manager's approval. Validate and reconcile timekeeping records for payroll processing.

      Compliance and Policy Adherence:

      • Ensure timekeeping practices comply with federal, state, and local labor laws.
      • Maintain and update timekeeping policies and procedures as needed.
      • Conduct regular audits to ensure compliance with company policies and regulations.

      System Administration:

      • Manage and configure timekeeping software to meet organizational needs.
      • Coordinate with IT and software vendors for system upgrades and troubleshooting.
      • Train employees and managers on timekeeping system usage and best practices.

      Data Analysis and Reporting:

      • Generate and analyze timekeeping reports to identify trends, discrepancies, and areas for improvement.
      • Provide regular reports to management on timekeeping metrics and compliance status.
      • Assist in the preparation of payroll reports related to timekeeping data.

      Employee Support:

      • Address and resolve timekeeping-related inquiries and issues from employees and managers.
      • Assist employees with understanding timekeeping policies and resolving discrepancies.
      • Promote best practices in timekeeping among employees and managers.

      Team Collaboration:

      • Work closely with the payroll team to ensure accurate and timely payroll processing.
      • Collaborate with HR and department managers to address timekeeping issues and improve processes.
      • Supervise, train, and evaluate payroll staff; provide leadership and guidance.
      • Coordinate and assign work to ensure efficient payroll operations.
      • Foster a positive team environment and promote collaboration and continuous improvement.

      In order to succeed in this role, candidates will need:

      • Excellent attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
      • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
      • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion

      Qualifications:

      • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, Finance, or a related field.
      • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in timekeeping, payroll, or a related administrative role.
      • Proficiency in timekeeping and payroll software and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
      • Strong knowledge of labor laws and regulations related to timekeeping.
      • Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) required

      Salary Range: $90,700.00 - $136,100.00

      The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

      Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
