- Direct computation of pay by interpreting Avera policies, contracts and government regulations affecting payroll procedures to ensure compliance with the FSLA and contractual agreements.
- Ensure that all bi-weekly payrolls are processed timely and accurately including the distribution of direct deposits, processing of taxes, and distribution of applicable deductions.
- erforms quarterly and year-end testing and analysis to ensure accurate reporting to applicable jurisdictions and production of W-2s.
- Manages the processing of employment taxes and wage garnishments with ADP using SmartCompliance including the coordinating and implementation of new tax locations.
- Responsible for the research and analysis of regulatory updates and other information impacting the payroll systems.
- Facilitate audits by providing records and documentation to internal and external auditors.
- Establishes, enforce, and maintain payroll controls to ensure compliant, accurate, and timely payroll processing.
- Recommend and participate in the development of new procedures and policies related to payroll operations utilizing knowledge of regulations of federal, state, and local jurisdictions and establishes procedures and optimize processes for the payroll team to meet established deadlines.
- Manage funding and reconciliation of electronic fund transfers related to payroll processing.
- Collaborates and communicate actively with HR, Finance and Operations to review cross-departmental impacts.
- Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, developing, training, and retaining employees; planning, assigning, and leading work; appraising performance; rewarding and coaching employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
- Bachelor's Accounting, business or related field.
- Fundamental Payroll Certification (FPC) - PayrollOrg within 1 Year
- 4-6 years Experience with multi-state payroll processing.
- Knowledge of federal and state payroll, wage and hour laws.
- Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) - PayrollOrg Upon Hire
- Experience with Workday Payroll, ADP Smart Compliance, and Sympir/API Healthcare time tracking.

A Brief Overview
The Manager - Payroll oversees and supervises the payroll team for the successful bi-weekly processing of multiple multi-state companies, ensuring all processes are completed on schedule, accurately, and in compliance with government regulations. Manages relationships and processes with 3rd party vendors. Ensures the transmission of all electronic funds transfers relating to the distribution of net wages and payroll deductions. Responsible for periodic audits, testing, and implementation of all payroll system changes, enhancements and process improvements. Create, document, and refine standardized team procedures to ensure efficient and accurate processing.
