      Position: Manager, Pricing

      Job Description:

      The Pricing Manager will provide analytical and pricing support to our business service offerings. The position will utilize customers’ current shipping data and available market data in Forward Air Inc. analysis models to prepare customer-specific profit and loss forecasts that enable the analyst to make appropriate pricing recommendations and decisions. The Pricing Manager will be managing personnel to set initiatives provided by the Director , Pricing and related to the Routing Guide Cost Model and be responsible for impactful outcome for the company.

      Core Responsibilities & Duties:

      • Improve and advance the cost information system for better decision making on a regular basis
      • Roll-out and responsible for using data analytical cost base
      • Develop understanding of customer’s transportation needs and service requirements
      • Expertise in business, marketing, pricing, and revenue management analytics
      • Solid understanding of quantitative and statistical approaches to business analysis related to revenue analytics and revenue optimization
      • Respond and support for RFQ's, RFP's and RFI's as needed and in a timely manner
      • Analyze market and industry trends for overall price effectiveness
      • Analyze both existing and potential business opportunities for the organization
      • Develop effective business proposals and bid packages
      • Ad hoc reporting and analysis pertaining to customer revenue, profit margins and service
      • Develop financial models and reports for ad hoc analyses to support different internal initiatives
      • Other duties as assigned

      Qualifications:

      • Bachelor’s degree in business, Logistics, Transportation, Supply Chain or equivalent industry experience in transportation or logistics industry
      • Minimum one years’ experience in transportation
      • Possess strong relationships with air freight, ocean carriers, airlines, and freight forwarders
      • Knowledge of FMC rules and regulations
      • Previous tariff, rates, accessorial pricing, class, and commodities experience
      • Experience reviewing and negotiating transportation contracts
      • MS Excel expertise is required, MS Access experience is preferred
      • Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally and collaborate with multiple stakeholders in Operations, IT, HR, and Finance
