      PPD, the clinical research business of Thermo Fisher Scientific, has an opening for a Manager, Recruitment Strategy, supporting our Site Network. In this role, you will be focused on portfolios for Cardiometabolic (US / EMEA); Gerontology, Mind and Memory; Healthy Volunteers; Respiratory and Dermatology studies.

      Discover Impactful Work:

      You will work effectively across multiple divisions to oversee the delivery of patient recruitment and retention deliverables. This role ensures that the needs of the study are matched with the right vendors and services, supervising the quality and performance of the selected vendors during the study, and helps manage and/or escalate any issues.

      A day in the Life:

      • Develops and oversees study-specific patient recruitment and retention strategy, recommending adjustments as needed.
      • Responsible for the identification of study-specific potential barriers to patient recruitment and retention.
      • Responsible for developing and maintaining the Study Recruitment and Retention Plan per SOPs.
      • Works with the client and project team on the identification of the most appropriate vendor solution(s) for the study.
      • Oversees quality and performance of vendors and manages/escalates any issues.
      • Ensures any client- or protocol-mandated diversity requirements are met.
      • Works with project team to ensure country- and region-appropriate methods are used, and requirements met.
      • Works to identify potential risks, develop contingency plans.
      • Ensure vendor invoices are accurate and timely, works closely with Finance and Contracts to manage any financial and contractual matters for the vendor.
      • Works closely with Patient Services vendor relationship leads to ensure appropriate activities are conducted.
      • Provides support for proposals and bid defenses around recruitment lead activities

      Education and Experience:

      • Bachelor's degree or equivalent and relevant formal academic / vocational qualification
      • Previous patient recruitment experience that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job (comparable to 5-7 years).
      • In some cases an equivalency, consisting of a combination of appropriate education, training and/or directly related experience, will be considered sufficient for an individual to meet the requirements of the role.

      Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

      • Experience in vendor management
      • Knowledge of the key principles of cross functional project management (cost, time, and quality)
      • Solid financial acumen
      • Applies negotiation techniques to achieve desired outcomes with evidence of commercial and organizational acumen
      • Can effectively plan and deliver a dynamic and persuasive presentation, using effective technology and graphics
      • Displays effective communication skills (listening, oral, written) and can communicate in English language (oral, written)
      • Sound interpersonal skills, flexible and adapts to changing situations
      • Has the ability to persuade, convince, and influence or impress others
      • Is organized, and possesses a focus on quality with attention to detail
      • Assists in training team members as needed
      • Effectively prioritizes own workload and the ability to multi-task across competing timelines
      • Ability to effectively use automated systems and computerized applications such as Outlook, Excel, Word, Power Point, MS Teams, etc.
      • Possesses cross-cultural awareness and is able to adapt appropriately
      • Has an in-depth understanding and appreciation of clinical research/development, including medical and therapeutic areas, phases, and medical terminology
      • Has some experience with leading, liaising and coordinating cross-functional project teams
      • Has basic knowledge/understanding of clinical development guidelines and directives

      This is a salaried role that will also be eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and/or individual performance results in accordance with company policy. Compensation will be initially discussed during the screening period, with actual compensation confirmed in writing at the time of offer.
