What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Manage all aspects of the sales cycle, from prospecting to closing, ensuring effective sales strategies
- Market and sell existing and new products and services, utilizing knowledge of railroad customer needs
- Document customer activities in CRM and maintain a comprehensive database to support sales efforts
- Prepare sales presentations and proposals, negotiating pricing and understanding product awareness
- Establish and maintain strong customer relationships, resolving inquiries and complaints efficiently
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Bachelor's Degree in business or a relevant field preferred
- Minimum of 5+ years in business-to-business sales or railroad track and structures experience
- In lieu of a degree, 9+ years of equivalent education and experience may be considered
- Required to maintain Railroad Certifications, obtaining and maintaining them upon hire
- Ability to travel 70% or more, including international travel
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Strong working knowledge of railroad products and services, particularly maintenance of track and structures
- Experience in developing strategic plans for customer service contract expirations
- Familiarity with competitor activity and ability to recommend new product initiatives
- Participation in educational opportunities and industry events to stay updated on developments
- Strong interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with product development teams
