Job Description

- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain and/or Finance
- Experience: 5 – 7 years + experience in Strategic sourcing. To include - competitive bidding, negotiations, vendor and contract management, value analysis, business case development, financial analysis, forging positive stakeholder relationships. Excellent data analytical skills, proficient in Excel and other MS Office applications.
- Advanced proficiency with Excel, PowerPoint, data analysis, business case development, ERP systems e.g. SAP
- Possess excellent communication skills at multiple levels of a global organization
- Ability to influence and work in a Collaborative Environment.
- Ability to prepare and present presentations and financial analysis to leaders
- Ability to resolve challenging issues and flag potential issues to relevant teams
- Ability to successfully prepare for and lead commercial negotiations
- Pro-active attitude with regards to new opportunities, ‘nothing is impossible’ mentality
- Commercial astuteness aligned to sourcing best practices
- Lead Cost reduction & Value creation initiatives with Key suppliers.
- Design and implement best-practice sourcing strategies, using data analytics and industry intelligence to meet cost savings targets. Incorporate key cost drivers (price, product, process), with targeted improvements in cost and operational efficiency
- Set priorities based on stakeholder input, savings potential, and organizational readiness
- Conduct the annual price collection and negotiation program for North American contracts.
- Forge professional and effective relationships with key stakeholders, supply chain colleagues, process partners, and vendors
- Develop and own strategic contract roadmaps, demonstrating a pro-active approach to negotiation and long-term vision for category development
- Proactively analyze spend data to determine new opportunities, or by enhancing existing contracts
- Identify and lead bid opportunities and prepare timely RFP’s utilizing technology e.g. e-sourcing, where applicable
- Prepare for, lead and support key vendor negotiations
- Act as a liaison to assist key stakeholders to achieve business objectives
- Produce and present monthly reports and status updates to senior leaders.

Avantor is looking for a dedicated and creative Manager – Strategic Sourcing to optimize our Sourcing team, delivering results against some of the most complex business and technology initiatives.Reporting to the Director, Strategic Sourcing, the Manager - Strategic Sourcing is a recognized subject matter expert and is responsible for owning and optimizing complex portfolios across lab supplies , Chemicals , Cleanroom, Safety & MRO and delivering efficiencies on the $300m ~ $500m cost of goods sold (COGS). In partnership with key stakeholders and wider global sourcing teams, this key sourcing role will utilize strategic sourcing best practices, data analytics, and stakeholder engagement to reduce the total cost of ownership (TCO) of many business-critical products and services.
