      The Manufacturing Manager is responsible for planning and managing all daily operations of the Manufacturing department, ensuring the efficient allocation of resources, equipment, and personnel at Texas Original’s production facility. The Manufacturing Manager is responsible for delivering the production schedule on time and in full. The role includes overseeing the production processes, ensuring safety and quality standards are met, and maintaining accurate records of batch production and inventory. The role will involve personnel management, including hiring, training, evaluating, and addressing performance issues. This position will drive continuous improvement efforts and ensure that all activities are performed safely, within budget, and in compliance with company policies and industry regulations.

      Key Responsibilities:
      • Manage the day-to-day manufacturing activities from formulation through finished goods, ensuring products are produced in compliance with regulatory standards and company specifications.
      • Responsible for meeting or exceeding production targets and on-time delivery metrics, ensuring alignment with company objectives and production schedules.
      • Manage and mentor production staff, creating a culture of accountability, safety, and continuous improvement. Drive team performance through effective communication and coaching.
      • Adhere to all relevant safety, environmental, and industry regulations at all times.
      • Participate in Production Planning meetings and break down targets into an executable schedule for the production team, ensuring efficiency in changeovers, process sequence, and use of labor to ensure business objectives are met.
      • Generating batch records, formulation sheets, or other controlled documents required to complete production processes.
      • Partner with supervisor(s) and team to ensure smooth workflows, resolve operational issues, and drive productivity to established standards.
      • Lead efforts to identify inefficiencies, reduce waste, and enhance production processes.
      • Elevate the need for changes and suggestions to improve run rates, reduce costs, and maintain high-quality standards.
      • Maintain accurate records of production batches, equipment maintenance, and testing results for compliance and auditing purposes.
      • Ensure all manufacturing equipment is properly maintained, calibrated, and functioning efficiently.
      • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues to prevent disruptions in operations.
      • Coordinate with Lab and Quality teams to ensure products meet or exceed quality standards.
      • Prepare and deliver regular reports on key performance indicators (KPIs), including production volumes, efficiency, labor, quality, and safety metrics.
      • Maintain all department logs and check sheets in partnership with supervisor(s) and team.
      • Complete work orders and maintain accurate department inventory using the company ERP system.
      • Perform Time and Attendance activities such as scheduling, processing time off requests and documenting time and attendance deficiencies among the team
      • Perform reviews, performance evaluations and career pathing activities for the team as set out by company policy.


      Additional Responsibilities:
      • Work on production lines as needed to ensure targets are met.
      • Maintain accurate and updated department SOPs for all processes.
      • Participate in and occasionally lead R&D projects for new products, ensuring all initiatives are scheduled in a way that does not compromise production throughput.
      • Prepare inventory reports in partnership with Compliance and Inventory teams.
      • Work with Facilities Manager to ensure PMs are completed and critical spare inventory is up to date.
      • Support manufacturing capacity analysis, providing updates to run rates and communicate through appropriate channels to solve for bottlenecks in processes.
      • Support inventory management of consumables and ingredients for department through partnership with Inventory Manager.
      • Schedule flexibility to support production goals, occasionally outside of normal business hours.


      What you'll need to succeed:
      • 3+ years of experience in manufacturing/packaging environments, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial role. Cannabis industry experience preferred. Edibles/Infusions experience a plus.
      • Flexibility in a quick moving, growing industry. Experience in a startup and/or high-growth environment preferred.
      • High school diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor’s degree in Management, Business, Supply Chain,
      • Engineering, or a related field preferred.
      • Strong leadership and personnel management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop teams.
      • Supervisory experience of 10+ employees
      • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments.
      • Experience and familiarity with industrial or benchtop production/packaging equipment and comfort with troubleshooting, strong mechanical aptitude.
      • Familiarity with cannabis industry regulations and compliance requirements (e.g., state-specific laws, GMP, OSHA).
      • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and organizational skills.
      • Experience and working knowledge of standard operating procedures (SOPs) and quality control procedures (QC).
      • Extraordinary attention to detail and an eye for product quality and process improvement.
      • Familiarity with ERP systems for production tracking and inventory management.
      • Familiarity or experience with GMP preferred.
      • Lean or Six Sigma certifications a plus.
      • Ability to collect, analyze, and present data to leadership.
      • Must be able to wear appropriate PPE at all times.
      • Must be able to stand for extended periods of time.
      • Requires good manual dexterity, coordination, and stamina.
      • Frequently lifts, loads, unloads, moves, positions, and transports items up to 50 pounds.
      • This person may be exposed to dust, kief, cleaning chemicals, and fumes. Although systems are in place to remove these byproducts, there is still exposure to some degree.
