- Define Material Planning & inventory strategy and segmentation, incorporating other relevant strategies.
- Take care of Material Planning of our buy under buy model and ensure delivery output on weekly basis.
- Prepare the supply and inventory planning inputs for capacity scenarios and recommendations.
- Review and publish supply and inventory planning metrics targets.
- Manage warehouse related issues & business financials being at remote location.
- Lead cross function discussion with Quality & Engineering to find solution o day to day basis.
- Conduct performance management, talent development, succession planning and engagement.
- Responsible for personnel decisions related to hiring, performance and disciplinary actions for your direct reports. You will also spend time completing the same tasks as employees on your team.
- Drive VA/VE initiative for business.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Has a general knowledge of the processes, organization & tools used in Demand Planning in Wabtec.
- Is able to describe the purposes and process of Demand Planning, including statistical forecasting, collaborative sales forecasting, demand shaping and co-planning with customers.
- Understands how Demand Planning interacts within the end-to-end SIOP processes and what is the impact of a poor or missing forecast.
- Analyzes existing issues to identify significant and repetitive ones, and initiates the Problem to Prevention process to solve the underlying problem
- Effectively involves required stakeholders and proactively communicates the status of issue resolution
- Is able to describe and calculate the Need / Resource Balance and use the Replenishment systems in order to manage the inventory.
- Knows how and when to use the different replenishment strategies (MRP, ROP, Kanban, etc).
- Is able to define, monitor and take actions on exception messages from the ERP.
- Is able to acknowledge and understand customer demand (forecast),to describe inventory parameters and lead time impact, and to describe the resources needs (capacity, people, components).
- Is able to anticipate shortages or excess stock and take action accordingly.
- PO rescheduling and communication to stakeholders (suppliers, customers)
- Understand the different upstream concepts: Consignment, Vendor Managed Inventory, Advanced Supplier Warehouse.
- Lead cross functional discussion and follow business assigned KPIs.
- Inventory forecasting – Annual, quarterly, Monthly.
- Develop, manage and deliver the Inventory Budget,13 Pt. Inventory turns.
- Driving Inventory optimization projects.
- Control Non-moving and Slow-moving inventory.
- Partnering with Finance to manage plant inventory KPI.
- Partnering with manufacturing engineering and sourcing for NPI. Manage ECN implementation, Phase-in phase-out and take lead to settle commercial impact.
- Lead Annual Inventory audit in partnership with Warehouse.
- To ensure process control for materials management.
- Digitization solution for critical process and ensure implementation across the board.
- Monitoring key deliverables of warehouse and fulfillment process.
- Responsible for annual and Monthly budgeting for Miscellaneous inventory planned items.
- Responsible for Order management to line issuance.
- Good communication & presentation skills
- Working knowledge in ERP environment (Oracle desirable)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Data Analytical Skills

Job Purpose and Impact
The Materials Planning Manager - RM/PM, will supervise our team of supply and inventory planners, overseeing day-to-day supply and inventory planning activities. In this role, you will guide our team that monitors key integrated business planning performance indicators, cost-to-serve performance data, helping coordinate cross-functional work teams.

Education & Working Experience
B.E./B.Tech from any reputed institute. Masters in Materials Mgmt. will be preferred.
Minimum 13+ years of experience. Out of which 4 to 5 years in Heavy Fabrication industry is preferable.
