What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Assist the clinic physician in the examination and treatment of patients
- Conduct patient interviews and measure vital signs, recording information in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR)
- Draw and collect blood samples, preparing specimens for laboratory analysis
- Manage patient appointment scheduling and perform administrative tasks such as registration and check-out
- Maintain a professional and courteous demeanor while interacting with patients and assisting with their needs
What is Required (Qualifications):
- High School Diploma or GED with successful completion of a Medical Assistant training program
- Minimum of one (1) year of experience as a Medical Assistant
- Previous experience in an ambulatory care setting
- BLS (CPR) Certification
- Ability to perform point of care testing and draw blood specimens
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Experience in a clinical or healthcare environment
- Familiarity with Epic electronic health record system
- Skills in performing EKGs and administering medications per policy
- Strong customer service skills and ability to interact positively with patients and colleagues
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and communicate effectively
