What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Analyze and resolve insurance claim denials for DME supplies through effective written appeals
- Review denied claims to ensure appropriate coding and make corrections as needed
- Investigate claims without payer responses to confirm receipt by payers
- Identify trends or patterns in denials to proactively prevent future errors
- Collaborate with team members on coding issues and assist in educating employees
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Three or more years of experience in DME billing and coding
- Experience with collections of insurance claims
- Background in Medicare and/or Medicaid
- Knowledge of Durable Medical Equipment (DME) processes
- High school diploma or GED
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Experience with EDI transmission
- Strong research and analytical skills
- Critical thinking abilities to assess claims and appeals
