      What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
      - Coordinate medical charges according to ICD-10 and billing insurance guidelines
      - Compile, code, and process medical billing data accurately
      - Serve as a resource to provide information regarding coding, insurance coverage, and participation to staff and patients
      - Conduct patient check-outs and function as a patient advocate, clarifying pre-authorizations and resolving billing issues
      - Utilize automated charge entry and accounts receivable software effectively

      What is Required (Qualifications):
      - Knowledge normally acquired through high school education
      - 3-5 years of related and progressively more responsible experience in medical billing
      - Proficiency in medical terminology, procedural coding, and claims processing (e.g., Blue Cross Blue Shield, Medicare, Medicaid)
      - Experience with a variety of Employee Health Record (EHR) systems, specifically Athena
      - Familiarity with automated charge entry and accounts receivable software

      How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
      - Completion of college coursework in healthcare or business-related field
      - Certification in medical coding
      - Excellent interpersonal skills to assist students in understanding financial obligations
      - Experience with case policy adjustments and Student Information System (SIS) processing
