What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Ensure all ERA and EFTs are set up appropriately for each practice
- Follow up with insurance companies on enrollment status and obtain missing explanations of benefits
- Post daily explanations of benefits and patient payments to accounts using electronic payment posting software
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies while maintaining patient confidentiality
- Reconcile daily work to bank deposits and assist with Q&A functions prior to month-end
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Associate degree in accounting, business, healthcare, or medical billing certificate; High School Diploma acceptable with 3+ years of medical billing experience
- Minimum of 1 year of specialized experience with a medical billing certificate or 3 years without it
- Proficiency in computer software applications including MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Office 365
- Strong customer service skills and ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a focus on confidentiality and professionalism
