What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Responsible for posting insurance and patient payments to appropriate accounts from various sources
- Follow up with insurance companies to verify enrollment status
- Handle daily explanation of benefits and patient payments utilizing electronic payment posting software
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies related to payments
- Maintain patient confidentiality and ensure accuracy in financial records
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Associate degree in accounting, business, healthcare, or medical billing certificate; High School Diploma acceptable with 3+ years of medical billing experience
- Minimum of 1 year of specialized experience in medical billing or 3 years without a billing certificate
- Proficiency in medical software programs and ability to manage office procedures
- Strong customer service skills and ability to communicate effectively
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to maintain confidentiality
