What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Process claims, manage accounts receivable, and maintain documentation in compliance with payer guidelines
- Investigate and resolve claim denials, identifying trends to improve reimbursement outcomes
- Communicate effectively with internal partners and stakeholders to clarify billing requirements
- Utilize OCHIN tools and processes to track deadlines and prioritize billing activities
- Apply foundational knowledge of the U.S. healthcare system to billing operations
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Experience in billing and/or coding revenue cycle experience preferred
- Working knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, Workers’ Compensation, and private insurance billing processes
- Rural hospital experience required for acute care hospital work
- Ability to work independently and efficiently from a home office environment
- Completion of a 50-60-minute competency assessment prior to team interview
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- FQHC experience and knowledge preferred
- Dental billing experience preferred
- Medical Billing Certification from the American Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC) preferred
