What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Review hospital service data to assign ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS codes for billing
- Travel to hospitals to pick up physician encounter data
- Analyze patient demographic and financial information to ensure accurate reimbursement
- Perform coding audits and resolve insurance denials based on diagnosis codes
- Maintain compliance with the organization's confidentiality policy and all company procedures
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Minimum of 3+ years of experience in healthcare billing and coding
- Professional Billing Coding certification (CPC, CCS-P) required
- Knowledge of medical coding and billing national standards, including CPT, ICD-10, HCPCS, and CDT codes
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines while providing exemplary customer service
