What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Design and own evaluation/optimization frameworks for advanced music models
- Drive the product and research roadmap by formulating research questions and conducting experiments
- Build stable infrastructure for large-scale data processing and integration with research and product tech stacks
- Champion scientific rigor by cultivating a culture of data understanding and model evaluation across the company
- Collaborate with various teams to translate research findings into actionable insights for product development
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Ph.D. in statistics, mathematics, physics, or a related quantitative field, or 5+ years of industry experience as a quantitative analyst or data scientist
- Proven autonomy and ownership in undefined product categories and greenfield research domains
- Strong coding skills to translate ideas into production-ready code within an active research codebase
- Excellent scientific communication skills to convey technical information clearly to diverse stakeholders
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Passion for music and the science of sound, with experience in DSP, MIR, music production, or performance
- Familiarity with deep learning frameworks, particularly JAX
- Experience with GCP, Apache Beam/DataFlow, Kubernetes, and TensorFlow Data/TFRecord
- Background in designing evaluation frameworks for generative model outputs
