What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Respond to and participate in crisis situations, ensuring patient safety and assisting staff during emergencies
- Participate in crisis intervention and prevention training
- Contribute to patient assessments and assist in discharge planning
- Monitor patient belongings and remove hazardous items to maintain a safe environment
- Report changes in patient behavior and assist with court-related paperwork
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Bachelor's degree and one year of experience as a Mental Health Specialist I or equivalent; experience may substitute for education on a year-for-year basis
- Valid/Active Nursing Assistant Certification (NAC) or Nursing Assistant Registration (NAR) with the state of Washington prior to employment
- Equivalent education/experience will substitute for all minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license/certification/registration
