What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Provide specialized academic instruction (SAI) for students with disabilities
- Manage a caseload of students, including scheduling and conducting IEP meetings
- Teach SAI classes tailored to specific grade ranges and aligned with students' goals
- Communicate with students and families through various virtual platforms
- Attend periodic in-person meetings and trainings, as well as state testing
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Valid California Education Specialist Instruction Credential in Mild/Moderate or Moderate/Severe Disabilities
- California English Learner Authorization issued by the CTC to teach ELL students
- Must reside in California at the time of application
- Ability to meet all credentialing requirements before applying
- Strong communication skills for virtual teaching and collaboration
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Experience in online teaching or virtual instruction
- Familiarity with individualized education programs (IEPs) and special education regulations
- Knowledge of the California education system and state testing requirements
- Ability to engage and motivate students in an online learning environment
- Prior experience working with diverse student populations
