      ODNR owns and manages state parks, state forests, state nature preserves and wildlife areas. We license all hunting, fishing and watercraft; oversee and permit all mineral extraction, monitor dam safety, manage water resources and serve as the second largest Law Enforcement presence in the State of Ohio.

      We are accepting applications for a Natural Resources Technician 1 - Magee Marsh Wildlife Area (Visitor Center) (1 position available - Ottawa County) within the Division of Wildlife, within the state of Ohio. The address is 13229 W. State Route 2, Oak Harbor, OH 43449.       What you will do

      • Overseeing daily activities, janitorial duties, and visitor interactions at the Magee Marsh Visitor Center.
      • Providing support and assistance for volunteers in the visitor center.
      • Other duties to include landscaping, ground, and trail maintenance in which operating power tools, lawn mowers, and pressure washers will be required.
      • Assisting with conservation education programming for youth and adults including but not limited to birding, archery, fishing, and wetland activities.
      • Participating in habitat manipulation and assisting area staff with special projects including baiting and banding of waterfowl on the wildlife area.
      • This position requires working weekend hours.

      • Variable, up to 40 Hours/Week (Typically 8 hour days but may include some long days, up to 12 hours, weekend work required)

      Formal education in arithmetic that includes addition, subtraction, multiplication & division & in reading & speaking common English vocabulary; valid driver’s license; valid Commercial Driver’s License required if motor equipment is of type & size regulated by Section 4506.01 & 4506.12 of Ohio Revised Code.
