      Prince William Public Libraries (PWPL) is seeking two dynamic and enthusiastic Neighborhood Branch Managers (Library Managers) to provide leadership and direction to teams of one full time and three part time public service professionals at Independent Hill or Nokesville Library. The Neighborhood Branch Manager position is ideal for a leader with strong management skills who is ready to impact the first year of our 2024-2028 strategic plan. They must possess effective management skills and be knowledgeable about the administrative and programmatic operations of public libraries. The Neighborhood Branch Manager position is the perfect opportunity for a creative, innovative team player who wants to share their passion for customer service with the Prince William County community.


      About This Role:
      • Supervises staff, including scheduling staff, creating and writing annual evaluations, facilitating the staff discipline process and managing employees to improve/maximize performance.
      • Provides branch budget oversite, completing all applicable financial paperwork.
      • Provides excellent customer service at an integrated service desk.
      • Conducts programming and outreach
      • Manages the facility, opening and closing the branch and submitting maintenance requests as needed.
      • Provides excellent internal and external customer service.

      Minimum Requirements:
      High school diploma or G.E.D. and 7 years of library systems experience to include 1 year of supervision.

      Preferences:
      • Supervisory experience to include scheduling and personnel management.
      • Experience providing excellent customer service to include policy interpretation, helping visitors, and writing incident reports as needed.
      • 1 year experience conducting programs and outreach
      • 1 year experience managing a budget.
      • 1 year experience with collection maintenance
      • Experience managing volunteers
      • Experience managing a facility to include opening/closing a building and submitting maintenance requests as needed.
      Special Requirements: The position may require travel to other branches within the system. A DMV check will be conducted for employees who drive while on County business.

      Work Schedule: These are full-time, 37.5 hours per week exempt positions. Independent Hill and Nokesville Library operating hours are: Monday-Wednesday 9:00 am to 6:00 pm, Thursday 9:00 am-5:00 pm, Friday-Saturday 9:00 am-2:00 pm. Schedule may vary depending upon the needs of the library.

      Starting Salary Range:$80,749.50 - $94,536
