What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Monitor and troubleshoot network performance, ensuring reliability and connectivity
- Configure, install, and maintain enterprise-grade network hardware including routers and firewalls
- Respond to network outages and perform root cause analysis to resolve issues
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address incoming support tickets and special projects
- Document network topologies and maintain records of network configurations and policies
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Completion of 30 semester or 45 quarter units from an accredited college or university in a related field
- Four years of journey-level experience with network systems, including one year in a lead or advanced role
- Strong knowledge of TCP/IP fundamentals and network routing protocols (EIGRP, OSPF, BGP)
- Experience with large-scale TCP/IP-based networks and network troubleshooting
- Possession of a valid California Driver's License
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Certifications such as Cisco CCNA, CCNP, Network+, or related networking credentials
- Experience with cloud networking environments like AWS, Azure, or Oracle Cloud
- Familiarity with advanced network solutions such as QoS and access control lists (ACLs)
- Previous experience providing technical leadership or mentorship to junior staff
- Knowledge of network monitoring tools like NetBrain, SolarWinds, or Infoblox
