- Supports the execution, implementation, delivery and success all projects internally within the Reconciliation team and in collaboration with other GWO utilities, and our GBM and Wealth Management business partners.
- Understanding departmental and client needs while collaborating with our business partners to focus on building strong relationships and encourage positive experiences.
- Assist with audit requests, regulatory reporting and ensure that all irregularities / improprieties are escalated promptly.
- Provide training, back up and assistance for all new team members.
- Ensure accounts on Corona/TLM are balanced daily – Statements/ledgers/outstanding items – signed by the Manager and stored for audit purposes.
- Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-today activities and decisions.
- Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk.
- Champions a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.
- Provide exemplary customer service and produce accurate work while supporting BNS Toronto, London, Ireland, New York and Asia Pacific for various business lines include FX, Derivative Products, Security Settlements, Money Market, Collateral, Futures, Lending Services and Finance.
- Organized, able to multi-task, work well under pressure. • Analytical and problem-solving skills are necessary.
- Strong understanding of accounting and reconciliation processes.
- Experience with Microsoft Office, Corona, TLM, BESS, PEGA.
- Strong communication skills (verbal, written, presentations).
- 1-3 years of Reconciliation and Accounting Background Experience
- Ability to understand business language and translate into technical terminology
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or related discipline

Purpose:The Analyst is responsible for the timely and accurate reconciliation of the Bank’s cash accounts held at other Banks and internal Inter Branch Accounts in strict compliance with Bank standards and regulatory requirements. The analyst must be able to identify and escalate potential risk to senior management.
They monitor and report daily activity to Senior Management including account balances, business line positions, and Summary of cash breaks to the various business lines on a daily basis. They are required to give a high degree of customer support to internal departments as well as Settlement Operations, Product Control, GTB, Finance and BNS Branches. Analysts must possess very good knowledge of the products and systems relating to the transactions and accounts being reconciled, as they work under very tight deadlines.Position Highlights:
