What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Formulate and implement medical nutrition therapy plans of care and document according to policy and clinical practice guidelines
- Screen, triage, and prioritize medical nutrition therapy consults for assigned patients
- Conduct nutrition assessments and identify nutrition diagnoses/problems
- Monitor and evaluate patients' responses to nutrition therapy plans and adjust interventions as necessary
- Provide age-specific, culturally appropriate nutrition counseling and education to patients and their families
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Bachelor’s Degree in Dietetics
- Knowledge of the Nutrition Care Process and ability to apply all steps of the process
- Strong critical thinking, decision-making, and problem-solving skills
- Effective communication skills in both written and verbal forms
- Ability to counsel and educate patients and caregivers
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Bachelor’s Degree in Food and Nutrition
- Registered Dietitian-Nutritionist certification from the Commission on Dietetic Registration
- Licensure as a Dietitian-Nutritionist in Mississippi or Tennessee
- Experience in a clinical nutrition setting
- Familiarity with nutrient analysis and relevant software applications
