What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Ensure clinical documentation meets quality standards and accurately reflects patient status
- Provide education to physicians and staff on the Clinical Documentation Improvement Program (CDIP)
- Facilitate modifications to clinical documentation through interactions with healthcare teams
- Support timely and complete documentation for measuring physician and hospital outcomes
- Consult with coders regarding documentation needed to assign the correct DRG
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Minimum of five years of clinical and critical nursing experience
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing or equivalent
- Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Utah, or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire
- Ability to work variable and rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Knowledge of state and federal regulations related to clinical documentation
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Knowledge of ICD-9 coding and Diagnosis-Related Groups (DRG)
