      Job Purpose

      The Occupational Health and Wellbeing lead is the key focal point for health-and wellbeing related matters within our Vessel and Spoolbase Operations (VSO) department, providing expert advice on the strategic direction of health within the business.

      • Develop, implement and evaluate health and wellbeing related policies and strategies

      • Work in partnership with stakeholders across management teams to engage support for the promotion of health and wellbeing within the business

      • Vessel and Spoolbase Operations (VSO) department focal point for the retained occupational health service providers for the fleet and ensuring the service meets the needs of the business

      • Manage the offshore medics and all health management offshore on vessels under operational control

      • Develop, manage and deliver the health and wellbeing strategy and supporting initiatives

      • Mentor and professionally develop HSE team members in occupational health and wellbeing matters through a combination of training, theory and practice

      • Provide professional occupational health services to the business whilst retaining confidentiality which the position demands

      • Represent Vessel and Spoolbase Operations (VSO) department within the offshore, marine and subsea industry

      Reporting Lines and Interactions

      Hierarchically reports to: Senior Manager - HSE, Vessel and Spoolbase Operations (VSO) department

      Operationally reports to: Senior Manager HSE and HSE Manager, Vessel and Spoolbase Operations (VSO) department

      Directly supervises: Offshore medics

      Main Accountabilities

      Main accountabilities:

      • Supporting employees, and their operations, through the design, delivery and maintenance of occupational health and wellbeing services and systems

      • Applying occupational health skills to support and promote the highest degree of physical, emotional, and mental health and wellbeing for employees and stakeholders

      • Ensuring Vessel and Spoolbase Operations (VSO) department projects and operations are provided with occupational health guidance and support to achieve technical and legal compliance

      • Maintaining high professional standards and continue to grow the companies reputation as an industry leader in the delivery of occupational health and wellbeing support services

      • Deliver presentations / training sessions to promote health and wellbeing and occupational health risks

      • Ensure consistent occupational health case management

      Main Accountabilities (cont)

      • Provide health and wellbeing promotion

      • Support the development of worksite health risk assessments

      • Provide advice and support with travel health

      • Support the HSE team to strengthen the Health and wellbeing agenda within Vessel and Spoolbase Operations (VSO) department

      • Work with senior management to define meaningful occupational health and wellbeing key success factors (KSF’s)

      • Provide reports to management on all health-related issues on a regular basis in line with agreed KSF’s

      • Manage the vessel medics and ensure they have clinical governance process

      • In conjunction with vessel master input into the medic’s annual appraisal and objectives

      • Manage the Vessel and Spoolbase Operations (VSO) department's service delivery of the occupational health service provider

      • Participate in medical emergency response drills, and occupational health audits and inspections

      • Manage and ensure consistent implementation of the drug and alcohol policy

      • Provide guidance and support to the offshore people department

      • Identify health related improvement objectives and contribute to the delivery of the Vessel and Spoolbase Operations (VSO) department's annual goals and HSE plan

      Qualifications

      Essential:

      • Registered Nurse qualification and confirmed fitness to practice

      • Recognised qualification in mental health and wellbeing

      Preferred:

      • Recognised qualification in Occupational Health Nursing

      • National examination board in occupational safety and health (NEBOSH) certificate or equivalent

      Typical Background and Experience Required

      Essential:

      • Experience in the delivery of occupational health care

      • Practical experience in delivery of occupational health support

      • Knowledge of Health & Safety Law and its application to Occupational Health

      • Ability to work well as part of a team and on your own

      • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

      • Ability to lead by example and influence others

      • Problem solver who has the ability to deliver continual improvements

      • Committed to continual professional development

      • Computer literacy skills

      • Able to innovate and respond to change

      • Ability to gain offshore survival certificate to BOSIET and OLF standard

      • Ability to pass a medical test to Oil and Gas UK or IMCA standard

      • Full unrestricted passport

      Nice to Have:

      • Knowledge of the medical aspects of commercial diving

      • Industry specific line management experience
