What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Provide skilled occupational therapy services to patients in their homes under the supervision of the Occupational Therapist
- Assist in evaluation and development of rehabilitative plan of care
- Instruct patients and families on exercise programs and therapeutic self-care
- Maintain accurate clinical records and reports
- Participate in discharge activities and completion of Occupational Therapy Discharge Summary
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Minimum of one year of experience in Home Health Care
- Licensed or registered in the State of Michigan
- Ability to drive and access patients' homes
- Proficient in computer literacy and record-keeping
- Graduate of an approved school for Occupational Therapy Assistants
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Hands-on CPR certification
- Knowledge of federal, state, and agency regulations concerning patient care
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with the Occupational Therapist
- Experience with patient/family education and self-care techniques
