      Job Description

      Role Overview:

      The OCR Assistant will support document processing by operating Abbyy Flexicapture and FlexiLayout applications to extract data from batches of PDF documents. You will focus on accurate data extraction, validation, and quality assurance, with responsibilities including troubleshooting, compliance, documentation, and continuous improvement. You will report to Sr. Director GRC & Transformation.

      Main Responsibilities:
      • Operate Abbyy Flexicapture and FlexiLayout to process and extract data from PDF documents
      • Configure software to recognize and process different document types, especially state unemployment forms
      • Create flat files from extracted data for further processing and analysis
      • Review and validate OCR outputs, focusing on low-confidence character detections and ensuring data completeness
      • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to data extraction and processing
      • Conduct testing and quality assurance to maintain high data integrity
      • Maintain detailed documentation of processes, templates, and configurations
      • Collaborate with teams to ensure seamless data processing and workflow integration
      • Stay updated with Abbyy software features, applying improvements to enhance efficiency
      • Support regulatory compliance by following state requirements for unemployment forms
      • Process and deliver assigned document batches


      Qualifications

      • Experience with Abbyy Flexicapture and FlexiLayout
      • Experience using Adobe Acrobat to manipulate PDF documents
      • Familiarity with State Unemployment programs from an employer's perspective
      • 1+ years experience in document management, data validation, or quality assurance
      • Exposure to process automation and workflow improvement
      • Familiarity with regulatory compliance in document processing (especially unemployment forms)
      • Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy
      • Identify character recognition errors
      • Proven ability to manage time and workload independently in a remote work environment
