What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Ensure integrity and quality of cancer clinical research data is maintained according to national and state guidelines
- Collect and document patient history, diagnosis, treatment, and status for monitoring outcomes
- Analyze and validate cancer data for accuracy and completeness within the oncology database
- Participate in departmental quality assurance initiatives and assist with improvement plans
- Represent the cancer program at major tumor boards and contribute relevant information
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience
- High School Diploma or GED
- Must obtain Certified Tumor Registrar (CTR) certification within 3 years of employment
- Basic knowledge of cancer reporting regulations and coding
- Proficient in using spreadsheet applications for data presentation
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Experience with cancer data management and compliance with accreditation standards
- Knowledge of epidemiology and cancer staging guidelines
- Familiarity with online tools and databases related to cancer research
- Active participation in professional associations and continuous education
