What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Compile daily work lists from alert/edit systems for various patient types
- Resolve edits/alerts following established procedures and communicate necessary updates
- Monitor aging accounts and prioritize issues to minimize billing delays
- Collaborate with billing teams and leadership to address coding and billing challenges
- Assist with tracking education requirements and productivity metrics
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Minimum of 1 year of acute care outpatient coding experience required
- 3 years of healthcare experience strongly preferred
- Certification(s) such as CPC, RHIA, RHIT, and/or CCS required
- Knowledge of ICD-10-CM, CPT/HCPCS coding standards and reimbursement processes
- Ability to communicate effectively and build strategic working relationships
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Health Information Management (HIM) or Health Information Technology (HIT) preferred
- Strong analytical skills and initiative in problem resolution
- Experience in customer service and maintaining long-term relationships
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and relevant coding software
