      Candidates must be located in the Pittsburgh, PA area. This role is remote, with expected travel to job fairs and local events covering Pittsburgh and the surrounding 10 counties up to 50% of the time. This role will be part time, with flexibility up to full time.

      VetJobs and Military Spouse Jobs are dedicated to supporting military-affiliated job seekers by providing professional career readiness and job placement services. We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Outreach Specialist to join our team.

      The Outreach Specialist, working collaboratively with the Pittsburgh Program and key organizational staff, is responsible for expanding the reach, visibility, and impact of VetJobs and Military Spouse Jobs. This position is responsible for engaging directly with transitioning service members, veterans, military spouses, employers, community partners, and installation-level stakeholders to increase awareness of our programs and drive participation in our services.

      This role requires a dynamic communicator, a relationship-builder, and a confident representative of the organization who thrives in fast-paced, people-centered environments. With travel up to 50%, the Outreach Specialist will serve as an on-the-ground ambassador at military installations, hiring events, conferences, community engagements, and partner activations in Pittsburgh and the surrounding 10 counties.

      Responsibilities
      • Conduct in-person and virtual outreach to service members, veterans, and military spouses to promote VetJobs and Military Spouse Jobs programs.
      • Represent the organization at military installations, events, career fairs, conferences, and community partner engagements.
      • Deliver presentations, briefings, and program overviews to diverse audiences, including command teams, employers, and community organizations.
      • Identify new outreach opportunities and recommend engagement strategies based on area needs and trends.
      • Provide timely, accurate reports to the Pittsburgh Program Manager.
      • Complete annual program specific PII and technology training.
      • Demonstrate ability to work independently while still achieving required outcomes.
      • Maintain professional communication with team members and management.
      • Ensure that all work is completed thoroughly, and reasonable deadlines are met, including but not limited to invoices, reports, meeting requirements, and other documentation or communication as required.

      Pay starts at $19/hour
