- Bachelor of Engineering or Pulp & Paper Science Degree
- 5-7 years in a leadership role
- Process, systems experience (centerlines, standard work and quality windows)
- Lean Manufacturing experience
- Tissue Machine experience
- Six Sigma experience
- Green and/or Black belt certification
- Ensure Paper Mill Operations Leaders are providing day-to-day direction to operations ensuring systems are developed, monitored, maintained, and sustained. This includes job plans, down day planning and maintenance planning.
- Develop and execute a 3–5-year strategy for Paper Mill
- Drive safety excellence through promoting employee involvement, ownership, and accountability to proactively identify hazards and implement the appropriate mitigating strategies based on the risk involved.
- Facilitate team development and growth for all Paper Mill employees (salaried and hourly).
- Take necessary actions to ensure goals are achieved in a team environment by leading or promoting problem solving and development of countermeasures with or by crew members. Promote operator involvement to strive for improvements in work tasks and asset performance.
- Accountability of boiler and wastewater operations.
- Monitor Paper Mill performance in accordance with established key performance indicators (KPI’s) to include safety, environment, overtime, housekeeping, quality and production efficiency and ensure corrective actions are implemented to correct any red conditions

Reporting to the Plant Manager, the Paper Mill Manager is responsible for leading all paper mill operations across all paper mill assets to ensure objectives for safety, quality, productivity, cost of manufacturing, customer service, hygiene and the environment are achieved. The successful candidate will build trusting, respectful work relationships within the department and with our customers by developing a climate which encourages the participation and involvement of all employees to pursue continuous development and continuous improvement.
