What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Provide legal and administrative support to attorneys in the Criminal Prosecutions Section and Appeals and Grand Jury Section
- Draft and file legal documents including motions, briefs, and discovery requests
- Conduct research and assist in preparing investigatory reports and other legal documents
- Manage case data entry, expense tracking, and travel arrangements for attorneys
- Attend hearings or trials with attorneys and assist in preparing documentary evidence
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Five years of experience as a Legal Assistant 2 or four years as a Legal Assistant 3
- Certification as a Paralegal or Legal Assistant (CP/CLA, RP, or PLS) or equivalent education in legal studies
- Four years of experience performing legal support work
- Strong research and writing skills, with proficiency in legal databases such as Westlaw
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information consistent with attorney-client privilege
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Experience in criminal law and litigation
- Familiarity with electronic filing systems and case management software
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Experience assisting attorneys during trials and hearings
- Knowledge of administrative policies and regulations in the legal context
