What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Perform desk-based research using patent search systems and non-patent literature databases to identify relevant information
- Devise search strategies to effectively utilize each system and ensure appropriate scope of the search
- Quickly read and synthesize information from various sources to determine relevance to the search
- Curate and analyze documents located during the search to identify and describe the relevance of each document to the search requirements
- Prepare reports detailing search strategy and results according to established guidelines
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, or a related technical field
- 3+ years of experience in patent search, patent examination, or patent prosecution
- Knowledge of non-patent literature sources in your relevant technical field
- Excellent written and oral presentation skills
- Ability to effectively work remotely, including having a private location and high-speed internet access
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Experience with specific technical areas such as digital & analog electronics, telecommunications, or computing and business methods
- Familiarity with legal standards related to patentability and validity
- Background in conducting technical research in a collaborative environment
