What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Verify patient insurance eligibility and benefits accurately
- Ensure referral packets and relevant information are processed and documented correctly
- Maintain knowledge of insurance contracts, CPT, HCPC, and ICD-10 codes
- Communicate with insurance companies to secure prior approvals for referrals
- Data entry of patient information into the electronic medical record system
What is Required (Qualifications):
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in insurance verification, benefits, and authorizations
- At least 1 year of experience in a customer service or patient-facing role
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, fluent in written and spoken English
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Knowledge of Medicare and commercial/private insurance benefits, medical authorizations, and billing
- Experience handling sensitive information and maintaining confidentiality
- Familiarity with drug copay assistance program requirements
